Road biking in the Cotswolds

Road biking in the Cotswolds

In the summer I took on my longest bike ride to date, a 100km Audax. An Audax is a self-navigated long distance bike ride. A couple of miles in I took a wrong turn and lost the route, this was kind of a fail for a self –navigated ride but I knew where the half way point was and between stopping for directions and taking some off road detours I made it to the café where other riders were refuelling. From there I joined a group and completed the second part of the course. After the race I tracked where I had gone and although I didn’t complete the mapped route I did ride 100km in around 6 hours so I was happy with that.

Since then after work rides with a cheeky half pint on route became a regular feature whilst the evening sun still shun across the fields. Bring back the long evenings!
